Recessed Lighting & Fixture Installation in Jenkintown, PA

Lighting Services We Install

Whether you’re updating one room or lighting a whole home, we handle the layout, wiring and fixtures so the result is even, efficient and safe. That includes recessed lighting for kitchens, living rooms, hallways and basements; ceiling fans and fan-to-fixture swaps; pendants, chandeliers, vanity lights and flush mounts.

We also handle LED retrofits, dimmers, timers and smart switches, and outdoor, security and landscape lighting for safety and curb appeal.

Why Recessed Lighting Is Worth Doing Right

Recessed lighting looks simple, but good results come from planning: correct spacing so there are no dark spots, the right beam angle and color temperature, and proper IC-rated housings for insulated ceilings.

A licensed electrician gets the layout, wiring and switching right the first time — and safely, since recessed cans sit inside your ceiling near insulation and framing. Clean cuts keep drywall repair to a minimum.

We used Danny for a wide variety of jobs after we purchased our home in Malvern. Danny installed new recessed lighting, ran new electrical for our cooktop, fixed and installed new outlets / switches, and even installed our smart doorbell all for a great price! Danny was great in getting out to us in a quick turnaround to run new electrical for our cooktop before the appliance company delivered it so we could use it in time for the holidays. We’ve had no issues with any of the work Danny has done, he always showed up on time and left the area he worked in clean. We always tell our friends if they need an electrician to call Danny!!

Wescott electrical is a throw back to an era when there was a local company that was great at what they do and cared about their community. After our first project we were impressed with the work, the fairness and transparency of their quote and by their ability to balance professionalism with a personable and kind demeanor. We have continued to use them whenever the need arises. Their work is clean and quick. They care about what the job and their clients. And it’s wonderful that they’re even great with our little one, who is fascinated by the work they’re doing. We couldn’t recommend them more.

Wescott Electrical is the best electrician I have used in over 40 years of owning properties in our area. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and fairly priced. As opposed to larger “mill” operations, you get personal attention, better prices, and better work. They wont try to talk you into things you really don’t need. I had them handle our rehab project in Ambler and they did a great job at a great price. As a former electrical engineer, I know quality work when I see it – and that is what Wescott Electrical gave me. Highly recommended!

FAQs

How much does recessed lighting installation cost?

It depends on how many cans, whether wiring already reaches the ceiling, and the fixtures you choose. New wiring in a finished ceiling costs more than adding to an existing circuit. We give you a clear written quote after a quick walkthrough — call (445) 888-0645.

Can you add recessed lights to a finished ceiling?

Yes. We install recessed lighting in existing finished ceilings, planning the runs to minimize drywall cutting. Any small patches needed are kept to a minimum.

Can you install a ceiling fan where there’s only a light?

Yes — but a fan needs a fan-rated brace and box to support the weight and motion. We add the proper bracing and, if needed, the switching for the fan and light.

Should I switch to LED?

For most rooms, yes. LED fixtures use far less energy, last longer and run cooler. We’ll recommend color temperatures and dimming so the light feels right for each room.

Do you install dimmers and smart switches?

Yes. We install dimmers, timers and smart switches, and make sure they’re compatible with your LED fixtures so there’s no flicker or buzz.
